“There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and miseries.
On such a full sea are wow afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.”
– Shakespeare, W. Julius Caesar, Act 4, Scene 3, 218-224
Shakespeare was a keen judge of human nature and as such knew that opportunity to accomplish a goal may only come once in a lifetime. For me, that opportunity for a career change came in 1982 as the result of a chance meeting.
